How We're Organized

The Midtown Brandywine Neighbors’ Association is a resident-led organization committed to building a welcoming, connected, and vibrant neighborhood. Our structure ensures transparency, accountability, and a strong foundation for community involvement.

Board of Directors

The Board provides leadership, sets priorities, approves spending, and oversees the work of the Association. It includes between 7 and 15 neighborhood residents, elected by fellow neighbors at the Annual Meeting. Directors serve staggered two-year terms to help maintain continuity and fresh perspectives. We strive for geographic representation across the neighborhood, and only one person per household may serve at a time.

Officers

Officers are chosen from among the Board and serve one-year terms. They guide the day-to-day operations of the Association:

President – Chairs meetings and leads the organization
Vice President – Assists the President and steps in when needed
Secretary – Maintains meeting records and organizational documents
Treasurer – Manages the Association’s finances and reporting

Committees

Committees are how we get things done. Each committee focuses on a specific area of neighborhood life and is chaired by a Board member, but any neighbor can join. It’s one of the best ways to contribute your voice and energy.

How Decisions Are Made

The Board meets monthly to discuss priorities, vote on proposals, and hear from committees. Decisions are made by majority vote, and a third of Board members must be present for a meeting to count. At our Annual Meeting each June, neighbors vote to elect new Directors and approve important updates.

Want to Get Involved?

Whether you’re new to the neighborhood or have been here for years, we welcome your participation. Join a committee, attend a meeting, or just reach out with an idea—we’re always glad to hear from you.
