Committees

Committees are the heart of how the Midtown Brandywine Neighbors’ Association gets things done. Each committee focuses on a specific area of neighborhood life, from planning events to improving public safety, and helps turn shared goals into action.

Every committee is chaired by a member of the Board, but any neighbor who lives in Midtown Brandywine is welcome (and encouraged!) to join. It's a great way to get involved, meet others, and help shape the kind of neighborhood we all want to live in.

Standing Committees

Events Committee
Organizes and supports social and fundraising activities in the neighborhood. Examples include the Spring and Fall Clean-Ups, Block Party, Progressive Dinner, Civic Socials, and Movie Nights.

Greenscape Committee
Maintains and improves the neighborhood’s physical aesthetics—manages projects like tree pit mulching, landscaping, and Pocket Park care.

Planning Committee
Studies and suggests short-term actions and long-term planning strategies. Coordinates with municipal and private agencies.

Properties Committee
Reviews issues related to residential and commercial properties and encourages cooperation among stakeholders for community benefit.

Public Safety Committee
Works with city officials to monitor crime, promote safety, and address traffic and parking issues.

Public Relations / Communications Committee
Manages publicity and external communications—this includes maintaining the website, email and phone lists, and sharing neighborhood updates.

Governance Committee
Nominates new Directors and Officers, reviews and proposes changes to bylaws, and helps manage elections.

Ad Hoc Committees

Freire Liaison Committee (Ad Hoc)
Created to manage the relationship between the Association and Freire Charter School. Responsible for identifying a neighborhood representative to serve on Freire’s board and staying involved in school matters that affect the community.
